The Green Lake School District is a 4K-12 International Baccalaureate (IB) school, which has a strong commitment to academic excellence and educating all children. An IB education provides all students access to a balanced range of academic studies and learning experiences at developmentally appropriate levels. The highly qualified educators in the district are passionate about teaching and focus on the whole child. Educational experiences are focused on embracing the outdoors as a classroom, being caring and compassionate, raising social and cultural awareness, using creativity and imagination in learning, providing personalized learning, and achieving balance. Superintendent Description: The Green Lake School District is seeking a strategic, visionary leader who is committed to and has the skill set to support the educational program development for the District’s IB educational 4K-12 programming. The individual hired will be able to manage outside influences and find opportunities to bring students into the system. Being a small town, the Green Lake School District Superintendent will be responsible for serving in multiple capacities, which includes not only the roles as a leader, but also a teacher, a developer, a mentor, and a coach. This position will possess the authority to delegate responsibilities appropriately to support the needs of the district effectively and efficiently. The Superintendent will further be responsible for the management of leadership and supporting change within the district, in addition to driving the district’s strategic plans forward. The Superintendent will lead the district with confidence, optimism, compassion, and an open mind, with a strong connection to family and community engagement. Qualifications and Skills: The individual hired must currently hold the Superintendent or School District Administrator license through the WI Department of Public Instruction or be currently enrolled in an approved program to obtain the licensure. A strong academic background and a minimum of 3 years of school leadership experience at the building and/or district level is required. The individual hired will further possess a strong fiscal law understanding and have experience in facilities management and planning to be able to effectively manage the fiscal health and operations of the district. The ideal candidate will be highly professional, approachable, accountable and uphold a strong work ethic that reflects the mission and goals of the district, while maintaining high levels of integrity and honesty. The successful candidate will be a strong listener and communicator (both verbally and in writing). The ideal individual considered for this position must be able to demonstrate a high level of understanding of modern educational learning, discipline management and curriculum and instruction development. Being an IB 4K-12 school district, experience in IB programming is highly desired. The Superintendent position will be hired directly through the Green Lake School District.
