SPORTS FACILITY & FIELD SUPERVISOR (PART-TIME)Town of ChristiansburgParks and Recreation DepartmentCode 611JOB SUMMARYThe Sports Facility & Field Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of the Athletic Facilities including supervision of activities within the facilities and enforcing the rules, regulations and policies of the Christiansburg Department of Parks and Recreation and the Town of Christiansburg. The Field Supervisor works directly with the Supervisor of Outside Sports Facilities and Parks, the Assistant Director and Director of Parks and Recreation.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS• Supervises the Athletic Facilities and the people using the facility• Assist with special events and other programs in the facility• Ensures and assists in maintaining a clean and safe facility• Maintains a professional and courteous attitude and provides excellent customer service when dealing with the public, Town officials and department staff members• Other duties as required/assigned by supervisorsTOOLS AND EQUIPMENT• Automobile, pick-up truck and van, if needed• Computer• Various athletic equipment• Field maintenance equipmentJOB CONTEXTThe Sports Facility & Field Supervisor spends approximately 100% of their time working outside at various Town Athletic Facilities,primarily nights and weekends. Stress is low to moderate. Will perform tasks that require the ability to exert light to moderate, though not constant physical effort involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of light to moderate weight (5-20 pounds). Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, heights, confined spaces, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, bright/dim lights, toxic agents, wildlife, or rude/irate customers.WORK PERFORMANCEThe employee is required to follow departmental expectations and adhere to all rules, regulations, policies and procedures in the Town of Christiansburg Personnel Handbook. Work performance is reviewed utilizing the Town’s employee performance review program following first 6 month introductory period.
