Shepherd’s Hollow is a 27 hole, daily fee facility located in northern Oakland County, MI. We offer full practice facilities, fine dining and award winning golf. In addition a new banquet venue opened in fall 2020. The beautiful glass building overlooks the 18thhole, offering amazing indoor and outdoor space for our guests.

Shepherd’s Hollow Golf Club is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic individual for an Assistant Superintendent position. The ideal candidate would be an ambitious individual looking to gain skills and experience toward a career as a superintendent. This person will work closely with the Superintendent to provide leadership for a staff of 25-30 seasonal employees. This individual must be organized, articulate and hardworking. Must have strong interpersonal and communicative skills, both oral and written and a strong desire to perform at a high level. Key components of this position will focus on daily course setup, providing consistent green speeds and sand bunker conditioning.

The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Assists superintendent in the daily planning, coordinating and follow up of all maintenance activities

Monitoring course conditions

Operation of Toro SitePro irrigation system and field controller troubleshooting

Assist in the hiring and training of employees

Apply fertilizers and pesticides as needed

Snow removal during winter months

2 or 4 year Turf Management degree

Minimum 3 years golf course maintenance experience, minimum of 1 year in a supervisory position with proven results.

Prior fertilizer and pesticide application experience

Michigan Pesticide Applicators License or the ability to obtain within 60 days of start date

This position requires a dedicated individual with a “can do” attitude and foremost attention to detail
